VAAS dues are paid on a January – December calendar basis, anytime during the year. If a member joins after October 1, their dues are considered paid through the following calendar year. Dues entitle a member to enter artwork in all juried shows and be eligible for drawing entries into specific shows.

For example, members are all welcome to enter themed shows like Juanita K. Hammons Hall on the 5th Floor throughout the year.

Members may also be eligible for hanging art on the 4th Floor featured artist shows and at venues like Nearly Famous Deli and Pasta House.

Criteria are explained throughout the year. Members are encouraged to get involved with VAAS by attending meetings that feature guest speakers, participating in hanging artwork at all venues, and even serving on the Board of Directors.
A variety of artist media are welcome, including: watercolor, oils, acrylics, pastels, mixed media, digital, 3-D sculpture (as allowed by venue), Digital art created by the artist, not computer-generated, photography, fiber art (as allowed by venue). If a potential member does work in a media not mentioned, they can ask any Board member about inclusion.

For our records, we require that the Waiver Form be reviewed, signed, and dated. Your signature confirms your understanding of and agreement to the terms outlined in the document. You can print and bring it to the monthly meeting. You can also get a Waiver Form at the monthly meeting, sign it, and hand it in.
