Juanita K Hammons Hall for Performing Arts
4th & 5th Floor Art Exhibition
525 John Q. Hammons Parkway – Springfield, MO
VAAS has 4th and 5th-floor juried exhibitions each year. There is a theme for each exhibition, and the exhibition will run for 2 months.

Drop off artwork at JKHH between 10:00 - 10:45AM on the first Thursday of the month in conjunction with the VAAS monthly meeting held at the Springfield Art Museum (relocated to JKH).

A VAAS member in good standing may enter 2 pieces at no cost and a third piece for $5. Non-members may enter 2 pieces for $25 per exhibit.

Fill out the registration form located on the website and give it to the exhibition coordinator. Fill out both sets of tags. Bottom tags should be cut and attached to the corresponding piece of work.

Notification will be made at the meeting if art is not juried into the exhibition. Best of Show-$100, Best of Theme-$75, and Honorable Mention-$25 winners will be announced.

If your piece of art sells to a buyer please leave your art on display through the duration of the exhibition.

To participate in the NFD exhibition, you need to have a current membership and have attended 4 meetings in the previous year. Names are drawn at an annual December meeting. Two participants are selected for each of the six shows.

Contact the coordinator to confirm participation 3 weeks before your date.

NFD exhibition is hung on the second Saturday of the month at closing time, 2:30 PM.

Complete the installation of artwork quickly, as the staff is preparing to reopen for the evening shift. *If you are not familiar with the restaurant, visit NFD prior to the hanging date. (Great place for a meal!) *If possible, meet Nancy Miller, the owner.

Work is hung on the north and south walls. The north wall is 4’ high and 45’ long. The south wall is 3’ high and 45’ long.

The number of pieces you show will depend on their sizes. Try to keep in mind that 12” between art looks best. Art may be stacked one above the other.

Use VAAS guidelines above for framing and hanging.

It is suggested that you keep an inventory of your work.

NFD has step stools. Please do NOT stand on dining chairs.

Nancy will notify you when a piece sells. When a piece sells, the artist must replace it with another piece of their artwork. It is best to replace in the middle of the afternoon between lunch & dinner rush, 2:30 PM. *Read Entry of Art, above.

Many venues have specific procedures, and as VAAS members, we should feel honored to show our art and present a professional and unified presence by respecting their guidelines.

Bring your art only at the specified times set up by the coordinator of the venue or by our coordinators of the exhibit.

Many venues have limited space, so larger pieces may not be allowed; ask in advance of the exhibit.

Since these shows are not juried, art created in a workshop, class, or book/video is allowed.
