Susan Neese was born and grew up in the dramatic landscapes of Arizona. In the 1970's she and late husband Bob Neese and their growing family migrated to the beautiful rural countryside of Missouri and enjoyed raising their 4 children there. in 2022 she was blessed to meet and marry a wonderful man, Steven McKinney whom she loves to travel and explore with. She now will be signing paintings as Susan Neese McKinney. Susan learned the fundamentals of art from her mother at a young age and her art has grown through years of practice and studying the masters and from painting workshops with many nationally known artists she admires. She has painted plein air (on location) in Florence, Tuscany and Porto Venere, ITALY, Maui, HAWAII, TEXAS, ARIZONA, OKLAHOMA, ARKANSAS and in many towns here in the Missouri.

Susan has shown her emotionally moving paintings in many "Solo Shows" and has won many awards and "Best of Shows". She has many collectors locally as well as spanning to the West coast of California and Oregon, North to Michigan and Southeast to Mississippi and Alabama. She recently won an “Associate of Distinction" with the American Women Artists. And is a member of the Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, American Impressionist Society, Springfield Regional Arts Council, Springfield Plein Air (MO) and Visual Arts Alliance of Springfield, MO.
