VAAS members Doug Steere and Teresa Fry received First Place and Second Place honors at the Ozark Icons exhibit sponsored by the McQueary family. The show was held by the Springfield Regional Arts Council at the Creamery Arts Center. Doug won First Place for his watercolor painting, “Tornado Warning,” and Teresa Fry won Second Place for her acrylic painting, “Men From Earth.” Doug was inspired by an actual tornado warning that occurred while he was painting. Teresa’s painting, depicting Clarence and Roscoe from the Ozark Mountain Daredevils' “Men From Earth” album, was created using three paint colors and it sold on opening night, September 6.
